I agree with the above comment — this sharing and creativity in the moment helps patients with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia re-member (put back together) small but meaningful sensory moments in their lives — and shows how the “symbol” of the canning jar with peaches becomes something real — to paraphrase Marianne Moore, “imaginary jars with real peaches in them.”

Thank you so very much for bringing such enjoyment to my mother through music and art. My mother had a real passion for music and it was great to know that even alzheimer’s could not take away that passion.
